Joy and sorrow is part of life and every one is subjected to either one or other form. Joy and sorrow basically state of mind to accept or not, what mind accepts gladly becomes joy where it compromises reflects the way other.

It is between mind, heart unto soul or vice versa, soul feels through heart and mind indicates through varying modes of perception.

The wise man gives up the wandering on the cord of joy and sorrow by developing concentration of mind unto self and thereby meditating on the ancient deity who is inscrutable, lodged inaccessibly, and located in the intellect.

It is the state of consciousness above the orbit of life that leads one to the orbit of immortality and meditation unto self helps in to reach at. Graduating the mind to perceive the truth and reality at its true pace is one form of meditation unto self.
